Naila Jaffri, a veteran Pakistani actress is suffering from cancer and news of her disease spread like wildfire on social media last month. The government decided to help the actress financially so that she could manage her medical bills but in a recent turn of events, the actress has refused to accept that said.

When news of Jaffri’s illness hit the waves, it was initially speculated that she was bedridden. However, she was quick to respond by clearing the air and telling the public that even though she was suffering from stage 3 ovarian cancer, she was not bedridden.

The actress said that she is regularly getting her chemotherapy done and is in high spirits. In order to support the actress, the government decided to give her financial aid from President Mamnoon Hussain’s Artist Welfare fund and a cheque of Rs. 500,000 is already in the process of being issued.

However, Jaffri recently announced that she will not be accepting that cheque anymore since the government has allowed an Indian tycoon in Pakistan with a no-police-inquiry visa.

“I cannot accept a dime from the government that entertains people from the very country that has been plotting against us our interests and our people,” she told a local newspaper in a telephonic conversation while referring to Indian tycoon Sajjan Jindal’s recent arrival in Pakistan.

“I am glad that the government decided to offer me help but I really can’t accept this fund under present circumstances. The love, respect and prayers I have received from my people when they came to know of my illness is unimaginable and I won’t do anything that hurts their feelings.”

Many people are outraged over Jindal’s visit and are expecting an explanation from the government over this issue.
