Some officers from the Sindh police registered a ‘fake’ FIR against four brothers on Thursday night, who were reportedly involved in a road accident with the police vehicle. When news got out that the FIR was completely false, the Sindh home minister took notice of the incident and has ordered an inquiry into it.

According to the details of the incident provided, a policeman driving an official vehicle hit a private car from the rear on Thursday night. After the collision, he got out and allegedly started beating all four passengers, who were brothers. He then called back-up and took the passengers out of their car and took them to the Gulshan-e-Maymar Police Station.

Over then, the police officer, along with his colleagues, continued to assault the brothers and eventually filed a fake FIR against them. In the FIR, the officer lodged a complaint saying that the entire fault of the accident was the brothers’ and that they had hit the police vehicle from the back.

However, that lie was soon caught as upon examination it was revealed that the police vehicle had been damaged from the front while the private vehicle was damaged from the back.

Soon after the incident, the police officer was also allowed to take away his official vehicle without any examination being conducted on it by the Gulshan-e-Maymar police.

This incident did not go unchecked as the news made its way to the media, coming to the attention of Sindh Home Minister Sohail Anwar Sial. The Home Minister took notice of the incident and ordered an inquiry into the incident and asked for corrective action.
