Chester Bennington was the face and voice of Linkin Park, and since his passing, everyone has been wondering what will become of the band. In a recent statement released by the band, it appears that they will not be replacing anyone with the vacant position left behind by the deceased singer.

On Monday, the band released a statement saying that no one can replace Bennington and acknowledged that the demons who took his life also fed his music.

“Your absence leaves a void that can never be filled — a boisterous, funny, ambitious, creative, kind, generous voice in the room is missing,” the band said in a statement.

“We’re trying to remind ourselves that the demons who took you away from us were always part of the deal. After all, it was the way you sang about those demons that made everyone fall in love with you in the first place.

“You fearlessly put them on display and in doing so, brought us together and taught us to be more human. You had the biggest heart, and managed to wear it on your sleeve.”

Bennington, 41, was found hanging from the ceiling of his room by his housekeeper. Later, a coroner’s report confirmed that the singer had committed suicide by hanging from a belt. The late singer had been open about his struggles to overcome depression, drug and alcohol abuse and low-self-image. These problems were rooted in part to him being molested as a child.

Linkin Park was supposed to start a tour a week later but now that the singer is dead the tour will not take place.
