A former MNA of Khyber Pakhtunkhua and member of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, Ayesha Gulalai, has left the party but not before tarnishing its image in the eyes of the public.

Gulalai held a press conference on Tuesday in which she announced her resignation and also explained her reasons for leaving the party. The former MNA claimed that the party chief, Imran Khan does not respect women and he also used to send her inappropriate texts. However, Gulalai did not provide any evidence to support her claim.

Former Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf MNA Ayesha Gulalai alleged on Tuesday that Imran Khan had sent her inappropriate text messages, but did not reveal any other details to support her allegations.

“I am not concerned about a party ticket or NA-1 seat, it is an illogical allegation, she said.

“Among many things, sending text messages is one of their bad habits,” she said.

“I received the first message in October 2013…you can check Imran’s Blackberry,” she said, adding that the PTI chairman urges other women to use Blackberry cellphones so messages cannot be traced.

“Check his Blackberry and you will know everything,” she alleged.

All messages are there and a record of the messages can be retrieved from the PTA, she further said.

“The messages contained words that cannot be tolerated by any respectful individual,” said Gulalai.

“Imran Khan cannot keep himself under control,” she claimed.

The former MNA also alleged the party of corruption and of disrespecting her former PPP leader, Benazir Bhutto. Gulalai said that it was appaling how Imran Khan did not even spare the deceased ruler and used disgraceful language for Benazir and this was the last straw for her.

She stopped attending party meetings after that episode and eventually decided to resign.
