PTI chief Imran Khan instruct party workers to refrain from targeting Ayesha Gulalai’s sister

The party chief of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan has asked his followers to stop harassing Ayesha Gulalai’s sister after the former had publically accused Khan of being morally corrupt.

Ayesha Gulalai is the sister of Pakistani squash player Maria Toorpakai Wazir, who has played for the country on national and international level.

Apparently after Gulalai hurled allegations against Khan, the PTI supporters started targeting her sister in an attempt to vent their anger against the former PTI MNA.

Gulalai held a press conference on Tuesday, in which she accused Khan and his close-ones to have an ‘immoral character’. She had alleged that Khan “would forward inappropriate and explicit text messages to party women”, claiming that she received the first such message in 2013.

Gulalai also accused Khan of using foul language from which even the deceased Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto was not spared.

During the conference, Gulalai announced that she would be leaving the party but made it clear that she will not be joining Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz, as was being speculated by many.

Khan himself has refrained from commenting on the matter directly and only touched upon it through a series of recent tweets. In the first tweet he asked workers to refrain from targeting Gulalai’s sister while in the following tweets he said that the allegations which were being leveled against him were part of PML-N’s efforts to to “try and purchase its way into toppling the legitimate Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government”.

He said that the PML-N was “moving to do what it does best” after their “smear campaign” and efforts to have him disqualified “failed”.

“Let those who sell their souls expose themselves,” Khan wrote in the last of four tweets.
