Zayn Malik, Gigi Hadid share Eid selfie along with their mothers

Singer Zayn Malik and his model girlfriend Gigi Hadid were recently seen together with their mothers, celebrating the Muslim tradition of Eid-ul-Adha.

The supermodel’s mother, Yolanda Hadid, took this opportunity to post a picture on Instagram with Zayn, Gigi and Zayn’s mother Patricia. The picture was captioned ‘Eid Mubarak to everyone celebrating’.

Both Zayn and Gigi’s fathers are Muslims and while the singer has been open and proud of his Muslim heritage, Gigi has never really opened up about it.

In an interview with a magazine, Zayn said that he always felt proud of being a son of a British Pakistani man, Yaser Malik, and growing up within the Islamic faith.

“I take a great sense of pride and responsibility in knowing that I am the first of my kind, from my background,” he told the outlet. “I’m not currently practicing but I was raised in the Islamic faith, so it will always be with me, and I identify a lot with the culture. But I’m just me. I don’t want to be defined by my religion or my cultural background,” he added.

Meanwhile Gigi’s father, Mohamed Hadid, was born in Palestine and migrated to the United States with his family when he was just 14. After that he settled in the US and became a successful business man here while both his daughter, Gigi and Bella, made their names in the fashion industry.

Even though Gigi has always kept her Islamic roots under the covers, she recently shared an old family picture of hers wearing traditional clothes and celebrating Eid-ul-Fitr.
