Las Vegas shooter’s girlfriend termed ‘person of interest’ by authorities

It has been discovered by authorities that Las Vegas shooter Stephen Paddock had a girlfriend who is an Australian but has been living in the US for the past 20 years. Marilou Danley, 62, was visiting the Philippines when the shooting took place and she recently arrived back in the US on Tuesday evening.

As soon as she came back, she was met by FBI agents who were desperate to hear whatever she might know of the deadliest shooting to take place in the US. The authorities are hoping that Paddock’s girlfriend might provide some clue as to what led him to kill 58 people and injure more than 500.

It has been learnt that Danley is not in custody as she is classified as a ‘person of interest’ and nothing more. Due to her status, she is free to go wherever she wants. The authorities also found out that while Danley was in Philippine’s, Paddock wired her $100,000.

The horrific shooting took place on Sunday night while a concert was taking place near Mandala Bay Hotel in Las Vegas, where Paddock had rented a room on the 32nd floor. At around 10:00 pm local time, he smashed the window of his room and started shooting at the concert venue with his rifle.

This resulted in a chaos at the concert venue and people just grabbed their loved ones and ran for cover. However, Paddock managed to kill 58 people and injured more than 500, some of whom are still in critical condition. By the time officials stormed into his room, he had already killed himself.

Authorities have determined that Paddock acted alone but they are now trying to uncover the motive behind such a deadly attack.
