Chinese daredevil falls to his death while performing skyscraper stunt

A Chinese daredevil who used to climb tall buildings and dangle from them without any safety harness, fell to his death while performing one of his feats.

According to the details provided, the daredevil—identified as 26-year-old Wu Yongning—fell to his death while attempting to dangle off the Huayuan Hua Center in Changsha which is a city in eastern China. He reportedly died on November 8, but his death was confirmed just recently by his girlfriend.

Yongning’s girlfriend broke the sad news of the daredevil’s demise in a post on Chinese social media site called Weibo.

Yongning had amassed a huge fan following on the social media site and his fans were simply heartbroken to hear the news. he used to post hundreds of clips of himself standing on or dangling off tall buildings without any safety harnesses. His followers reportedly grew concerned after he didn’t post anything for a month.

A family member was quoted as saying he was participating in a “rooftopping” challenge with 100,000 yuan (£11,300) at stake in prize money, though the nature of the competition and its sponsor was unclear.

“He planned to propose to his girlfriend (the day after the challenge),” his step-uncle was quoted as saying.

‘Rooftopping’ is a new term coined for a newly emerging feat in which people climb extremely tall city buildings without any safety equipment and dangle from the top. The dangerous activity is becoming increasingly popular across the world with many people trying to set new records.
