A caller supposedly calling from India really annoyed the Capital Police with his repeated prank calls. Because of his calls, the police found it hard to concentrate on their jobs and instead had to divert their resourced to find out who was calling from where.

According to the details provided, the calls started coming in during the early hours of December 25. The prankster would call the police control room staff and use offensive language to infuriate them. He even used the ‘Jai Hind’ slogans in the repeated phone calls.

Officials reported that they could not completely understand what the caller was saying but they could make out certain words which helped them in identifying him as an Indian. The caller said that he wished to speak to senior police officials.

“It was around 3:30 in the morning [when the calls started coming in},” recalled Sub-inspector Shabbir Ahmed. “The caller would repeatedly call the control room, using offensive language and issuing threats. He wanted to talk to the Inspector General of Police and the Deputy Inspector General… he told us to raise ‘Jai Hind’ slogans,” wrote the officer, who is deployed in the control room, in his complaint.

In one of his calls, the caller said he was speaking from India and said his name was “Zashe”.

Police registered a complaint against the unidentified called but could not decipher from where he was calling since their Caller Line Identification (CLI) was not working. The police then sought help from PTCL and it was found out that the caller was from India.
