Even though boxer Amir Khan has remained out of the boxing ring for the past two years, he has been making news for one thing or the other to come in the limelight time and again.

Therefore, it wasn’t surprising when the boxer made a show out of his boxing match promotions during a press conference for his upcoming match against Canadian boxer, Phil Lo Greco.

Khan threw water at Greco’s face after being taunted by him and this naturally resulted in a mayhem at the stage. The press conference was being held to promote the British boxer’s return to the ring after almost two years away.

During these two years away, Khan had to deal with marital difficulties with wife Faryal Makhdoom and he also had a short stint in reality show ‘I’m a Celebrity, Get me Out of Here’.

Khan’s match with Greco is scheduled to take place on April 21 in Liverpool.

Greco, who has won 28 of his 31 fights, mocked Khan by insisting he had been on a “losing streak” in and out of the ring since losing his last fight against Saul Alvarez in May 2016.

Khan responded to the jibes by throwing water towards Lo Greco at the press conference in Liverpool, prompting security to intervene before Khan insisted he would take the bout as seriously as ever.

“I will train like it’s a world-title fight. Greco says maybe I’m past my best. I’m 31 and at the peak of my career,” Khan said. “For me, boxing is the way forward. Boxing put me here and I am going to finish on a high.”

Many people are suggesting that all of this was pre-planned to garner publicity for his upcoming fight. Regardless of the reason, the incident has gotten attention and people are re-sharing the video on social media.
