The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman has tied the knot for the third time on Sunday sending the media into a frenzy yet again.

“Marriage is the combination of two hearts and two souls, which join each other on this special day of the wedding. Wishing [the couple] a very happy and blessed married life,” a PTI spokesperson said while confirming that party chairman Imran Khan has married spiritual healer Bushra Wattoo, also known as Pinky.

A few pictures of the ceremony were also released by the party in which Khan can be seen sitting with his wife’s family members. The wedding seemed to be a simple and intimate affair and it was reportedly held in Lahore.

“Wedding ceremony was held at the residence of Khan’s son-in-law Ahmad Wattoo in Lahore today (Sunday)…Khan’s mother-in-law and other family members also attended,” PTI spokesperson Fawad Chaudhry said in a statement.

The nikah was performed by PTI Central Executive Committee member, Mufti Muhammad Saeed. The pictures of the event showed Khan beaming, while Bushra herself was fully clad in veil. Several other PTI leaders could also be seen including Awan Chaudhry and Zulfi Bukhari.

Earlier on January 3, reports emerged that the PTI chief had already married his spiritual guru, then-Bushra Maneka, and that the affair was being kept highly secretive. However, the party broke its silence on January 7, claiming that a wedding had not taken place yet and that Khan had just sent a proposal to her for consideration.

Bushra was previously married to Khawar Fareed Maneka, whom she got recently divorced from.
