Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani encourages Naval Chief M. Asif Sandila to recruit Baloch youths

Pakistani Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani addressed Chief of Naval Staff Admiral M. Asif Sandila to encourage the recruitment of Baloch youths on Monday. He was talking to the newly inducted Chief of Naval Staff at the Prime Minister’s house.

Mr. Gilani advised that Navy should induct Baloch youths on the same pattern of Pakistan Army, which had recruited around 6,000 people in the province.

The Prime Minister further said that Navy should also set up recruitment centres in remote and less developed areas of the country and emphasised on setting up centres in Balochistan, Sindh and Southern Punjab. He also said that Navy should also built educational institutions and hospitals in these areas.

The Pakistani Prime Minister then went on to say that the completion of the road between Gwadar and Ratodero would certainly boost trade and would provide a better connectivity between the port city and the rest of the country.

“It will also increase many times operational activities at the port”, he added.

Mr. Gilani also praised the efforts of the Pakistan Navy troops in the relief operation for the rain-affected areas and people in Sindh.

“Navy conducted well-planned operations in Sanghar, Tharparkar and Mirpurkhas to save lives in the aftermath of unprecedented rains”, he said.

The Prime Minister further said that the democratic government is also building an International port at Gwadar, which would serve as a conveinient aerial bridge with the rest of the world.

Admiral Sandila, who took over from the Admiral Noman Bashir on October 7, expressed gratitude to the Pakistani Prime Minister for showing confidence in him. He assured that he would try his best in coming up to the expectations of the Nation in the defence of the country.
