Diplomats of the United States of America were caught in the act of espionage once again in Pakistan, but let go after proving their identity. Vehicles of the American diplomatic mission were reported to be suspiciously hovering around the Islamabad airport
and taking photographs of sensitive installations.

After Police noticed their activities, the cars were stopped and personnel detained. From their possession video cameras were found from which video footage and still photographs were made of the airport and the surrounding area.

The Americans argued that the people detained were hip-hop musicians in the city for a concert at the American Embassy. They had taken photographs because they didn’t know it was prohibited to do so and wanted to use them in a music video.

The six members of FEW Collective, a US officer, Pakistani staff from the embassy and Pakistani musicians were detained for around an hour on a military base in the garrison city of Rawalpindi, a spokesman told AFP.

“While one of the performers may have taken a photograph while travelling in an embassy vehicle on a public road, no sensitive installations were visible from the vehicle,” said the US embassy.

“The performer was not aware of restrictions placed on photography in or near the cantonment, and had no intention of taking photographs of sensitive Pakistani government or military installations,” it added.

American diplomatic personnel have become notorious for their illegitimate activities within Pakistan ever since the contract killer Raymond Davis was caught in Lahore. He was arrested for shooting down two young men in broad daylight. Pictures and video
of sensitive locations as well as extensive spying equipment were recovered from him.

The American machinery toiled hard to have Davis released, whose real name is still unknown. After initially presenting a haphazard response to his arrest, the complete American setup became active and aligned in their efforts to have him set free.

Even the American President, Barrack Hussein Obama, lied to international media that Davis was actually an American diplomat, not a private defence contractor, and therefore covered under diplomatic immunity.

In the end though he was only released after the Punjab Government of the PML-N paid blood money to relatives of the slain men, who thereafter pardoned Davis and the contractor was flown out of the country.
