Host Regis Philbin says goodbye to popular television program ‘Live!’

Paragon talk show host, Regis Philbin has announced his farewell from ‘Live!’ the talk show, after 28 years. The 80-year-old served as the host of the program for nearly three decades and on Friday, he proclaimed that he will no longer be the host of the
show. 

Well-wishers including Mayor Michael Bloomberg, stopped by to pay tribute to his sheer effort in serving the television show. The veteran host remarked about the audiences on his bid to farewell and said the viewers told him, they watched the show "because
it makes them feel better, and it can’t get better than that."

a star-studded audience that included Tony Danza, Alan Alda, Diane Sawyer, Donald Trump, Katie Couric, Meredith Vieira and John McEnroe, were also present to pay him homage. In the month of September, Philbin had announced that Friday would be his last day
on the show.

The show was commenced in the year 1983 when Philbin created "The Morning Show" for WABC in New York City. In the year 1988, the program was a winner of national syndication. The show will be renamed afterwards from ‘Live! with Regis and Kelly,’ to ‘Live!
With Kelly’, Kelly Ripa will host the show.

Ripa joined Philbin in the year 2001, as she was a replacement of former co-host Kathie Lee Gifford. The final show from Philbin was a sheer entertainer, as it featured several video clips and montages, which included many of guests and comedians ranging
from Barney the Dinosaur imitating Philbin’s signature syncopated and enthusiastic manner of speech to Dana Carvey.

Bloomberg presented Philbin with a key to the city and also suggested new jobs for Philbin including cabbie, New York Yankee, underwear model and New York mayor, with pictures and images of the paramount host digitally inserted into appropriate photos.

Bloomberg said, "You have been New York City’s biggest fan for 28 years and I just wanted to come and tell you New York feels the same way about you,"

Young stars like Justin Timberlake, Selena Gomez and Anne Hathaway, offered wholesome thanks and congratulations to Philbin in taped tributes.
