A study reveals painting roofs can cut energy consumption and temperature in cities

A study has revealed that painting roofs can be more efficient towards cutting energy costs and reducing temperatures in the cities while this very practice will promote a worldwide slogan of consuming energy with great care.

This new interesting fact about our increasing temperatures and how to reduce it with the help of painting the roof was revealed on Monday at a seminar on “Cool Roofs: Solar Radiation Management (SRM) Techniques to Combat Climate Change and Energy Crisis”
organized by the Sustainable Development Policy Institute (SDPI) where this new study was briefly discussed among the guests, who later spoke one by one in-front of other participants.                                              

The seminar included some of the very best in their respective fields and renowned individuals like Abrar Malik, who is an Assistant Chief (Buildings) National Energy Conservation Centre (ENERCON), Islamabad, along with Tenveer Mehmud, a Former National
Programme Coordinator, Clean Development Mechanism (CDM), Syed Amjad Hussain, an Advisor over Climate Change and Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) and Farzana Yasmin, Project Associate, SDPI told seminar participants the importance of today’s energy consumption,
low temperatures, and significance of energy costs across the world including Pakistan.                   

First, Farzana Yasmin spoke and tried to explain the very idea of having a separate department of Solar Radiation Management in the country and how important this department is for Pakistan.

Later some other speakers spoke regarding the excessive amount of energy costs and very high temperatures and urged people try find out the way how to cope with this entire new environment changing.

All the other participants too objectively descried all these new environmental changing in the world with a perspective of our country’s increasing temperature and reducing their strength.

They talked and demonstrated the main topic of roof painting and how it can affect our existing environment with a fresh beginning of a trend that ensures reduced temperatures as soon as people start doing what the study has suggested.
