Man throws acid on the mother and her daughters after being rejected

An angry young man threw acid on a woman and her two daughters after they rejected his marriage proposal on Saturday.

Ghulam Dastagir, resident of Layyah proposed Rashida, daughter of Muhammad Aslam and Parveen Bibi, who are the residents of Shamsabad, but Parveen Bibi refused the proposal.

According to the statement of the servant, "Aslam and his wife asked Rashida about the proposal and she didn’t want to marry Dastagir so they refused. When they did, he immediately began threatening everyone in the room and said
he would exact revenge."

Further, he added to his statement, "He kept saying that it was their duty to accept his proposal and that they were insulting him and his entire family by turning him down."

However, later that day, Parveen Bibi was moving towards home with her two daughters, Rashida and Zaib, while Dastagir along with his accomplices chased them down and threw acid on them.

The neighbour, Khadim Hussain, who took the victims to the hospital told, "They were walking home and he was chasing after them on a motorcycle. When they stopped at a signal, he threw acid on all three of them and fled the scene." He
also told that the incident took place near Old Chungi Bhai Wala.

All the three victims are suffering serious burns on their faces, shoulders, chests, necks and arms. A Rescue 1122 team rushed to the spot and shifted the victims to the nearby Allied Hospital.

The hospital officials told that the women received 40 to 45 per cent of third degree burns whereas they discharged Zaib after the necessary treatment.

Regarding Parveen and Rashida, Dr Mubarak Shah said," Rashida has suffered the most severe burns to her face and her eyes have been completely burned. Parveen’s face, eyes and neck has been badly burned and Zaib has suffered third
degree burns to her arms and neck."

The complaint was filed by Parveen’s Bibi son-in-law, Abdul Aleem, at Millat Town Police Station under the section 324 and section 7.

The SHO, Khalid Gujjar said that special team has been made to arrest the culprits and they will be behind the bars within the 24 hours.
