Don 2 rocks the box office

Farhan Akhter’s Don 2 bagged 75 Crore from India alone in its opening weekend. The movie features the King Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, and the desi girl, Priyanka Chopra, as the lead characters. Om Puri, Lara Dutta and Kunal Kapoor also star in this flick while
Hritick Roshan makes a cameo appearance.

Don 2: The King is Back is a 2011 Indian Action film which is a sequel to the 2006 film, Don: The Chase Begins Again. It follows Don (Khan) who after dominating the Asian world, is eyeing for the European domination. The action shifts from Kuala Lumpur to
Berlin and Don must avoid arrest or being himself killed in order to succeed. Other bosses of the existing European underworld and law enforcement agencies poses bumps on his mission.

The Rs 75 Crore budgeted blockbuster, Don 2, was released in several foreign countries and received overwhelming response at the International Box Office during the Christmas season. The Khan and Chopra starrer has smashed all the previous records by fetching
approximately Rs. 50.43 Crore ($9.47 million) in overseas collection centres in the first week.

From India alone, the movie pocketed Rs. 75.33 Crore with the highest earnings on Sunday (the third day of its release) when it grossed Rs. 18.22 Crore. Although on Thursday (the seventh day of its release) Don 2 grossed Rs 4.82, it summed up a total which
covered its budget.

In the second weekend, Don 2 grossed Rs 6.19 on Saturday and the figures are still getting higher.

The flick’s box office performance was boosted from its awesome reviews on its release. It received positive to mix reviews from critics in India and mostly positive reviews from critics worldwide.

New York Times’ top film critic, David DeWitt stated, “If "Mission: Impossible" and "Ocean’s Eleven" had a bombastic, funny and slick cousin, it might be "Don 2."”

Ethan Alter of the Journal International declared, “A slickly made, aggressively commercial franchise blockbuster that indicates Bollywood is now thinking globally, not just locally.”

However, Los Angeles Times’ Mark Olsen had a different opinion as he gave it a score of two out of five and stated, “Director Farhan Akhtar shoots and cuts the action awkwardly, not quite knowing where to place the camera, so the film never gets the slam-bang
momentum it might want.”

Overall, Don 2 is a must watch movie for all genre.  With Shahrukh Khan at its best along with and an array jaw-dropping action sequences get the adrenaline pumping and make you watch it over and over again.
