Priyanka Chopra says ‘7 Khoon Maaf’ broke her heart

Former Miss World, Priyanka Chopra, last Saturday won the best actress award at the 18th Annual Colors Screen Awards ceremony for her magnificent performance in the film ‘7 Khoon Maaf’, which was released in the cinemas on February 18, 2011. However, the actress has admitted she felt heartbroken when she saw the film’s response.

Vishal Bhardwaj’s ‘7 Khoon Maaf’, which is based on Ruskin Bond’s short story Susanna’s Seven Husbands, is a Hindi black comedy drama thriller and it featured Piggy Chops in the lead role.

The film also featured the likes of Naseeruddin Shah, Neil Nitin Mukesh, John Abraham, Irrfan Khan, Annu Kapoor and Russian actor Aleksandr Dyachenko in it yet it just managed to surpass its cost within its first week at the Box Office and after the end of its run, it was sadly declared as a flop by the Box Office.

Priyanka, who is one of leading of the actresses of the Bollywood industry, told the media she did her best in the movie but it failed to any business and this thing really broke her heart.

“Frankly, the film’s non performance really broke my heart,” she says with a sigh, “I had worked very hard in the film but then as you know, an actress only do her best. I got amazing reviews and I cherish that since doing a film like that at this stage of my career was a very brave step. I did ‘7 Khoon Maaf’ because I believed in it. But then ultimately, every film has its own destiny.”

Nevertheless, Chopra was happy with her other two releases in 2011, ‘RA.One’ and ‘Don 2: The King is Back’, in which she played a lead role opposite to the King of Bollywood, Shahrukh Khan.

“I never plan it but as you can see, after a break I now have four back to back films of mine arriving after counting ‘Don 2′. Somehow God takes care of my films’ releases,” she added.

Priyanka Chopra will now be seen playing a lead role in the upcoming movie ‘Agneepath’, which will hit the cinemas on January 26. ‘Agneepath’, which is a remake of the 1990 classic movie of the same name, is one of most-anticipated movie of 2012 but let’s see what response it gets.
