Senators wish to see Veena Malik in upper house

Islamabad: (Wednesday, January 25, 2012) Senator Mushahidullah Khan today while criticizing his fellow senators’ absence in the upper house said perhaps Veena Malik’s presence in the senate could bring his colleagues to attend
important meetings and discussions.

Sharing his remarks on the floor of Senate, Mushahidullah Khan regretted that the Speaker chairman had put all his efforts and neither the Prime Minister nor did the Federal Ministers showed up to attend and brief the Senate sessions.

To him, now there was only one way to try to fetch all of them to the senate and that was to have Veena Malik, the model and actress, who appeared almost nude in an Indian magazine, in the upper house.

Endorsing his comments, Mushahidullah Khan said, “Let’s bring Veena Malik from India and make her a senator or a deputy chairman…. Perhaps then the minister might show up.”

Coming upon with a spontaneous response to this, Senator Jan Jamali said, “A more sizzling thing be made the prime minister.”

Lamenting and condemning Prime Minister and his ministers’ approach to not to appear to answer questions in the house, MQM’s Senator Haseeb Khan said on a point of order that this was because the PM did not own them. He said, “This
is because he (Prime Minister) does not own us.”
