Rishi Kapoor is a legend in his lifetime says Vivek Vaswani

The Bollywood actor, writer and producer, Vivek Vaswani, has commended Rishi Kapoor’s performance in Karan Johar’s film ‘Agneepath’, which was released on January 26, 2012.

Rishi Kapoor played his first lead role as a sweet lover boy in the film ‘Bobby’ (1973) and due to his excellent performance the film became an instant hit among youngsters. However, in ‘Agneepath’ the veteran actor, Kapoor, has portrayed a pimp’s character (Rauf Lala), thus Vaswani is basically in awe of Rishi Kapoor’s versatility.

“Rishi Kapoor is the sweetest lover of Bollywood in Bobby, the ugliest pimp in Agneepath! Amazing transformations of these two stars,” Vaswani posted on micro-blogging site Twitter.

The original ‘Agneepath’ (1990), which starred Amitabh Bachchan as Vijay Deenanath Chauhan, was a failure but the new one has broken records at the box office. The film has featured Hrithik Roshan in the lead role as Vijay Deenanath Chauhan while Priyanka Chopra played a role of Kaali opposite to him. Meanwhile, Sunjay Dutt and Rishi Kapoor portrayed negative characters as Kancha Cheena and Rauf Lala respectively and both characters have especially been liked by the audiences.

Therefore, Vaswani, who worked with Kapoor almost over a decade back in the film ‘Aa Ab Laut Chalen’, is all praises for Kapoor.

Vaswani wrote: “A legend in his lifetime, son of a legend (Raj Kapoor), grandson of a legend (Prithviraj Kapoor) and father of a man (Ranbir Kapoor) who will be legend! Rishi Kapoor. And Aa Ab Laut Chalen will always be a highlight of my career. Directed by Rishi Kapoor, 60 days in Manhattan, and friends made for life.”

The 59-year-old award winning actor, Rishi Kapoor, is currently participating in Sajid Khan’s upcoming action comedy film ‘Housefull 2’, which will hit the cinemas on April 5, 2012. He will also be seen in Karan Johar’s upcoming movie ‘Student of the Year’, which is expected to release in the middle of this year.

Well, Rishi Kapoor is certainly a great actor but let’s see if he produces a similar standard of performance in his upcoming movies as well.
