Deepika Padukone sued by Ramesh Taurani for quitting ‘Race 2’

Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone recently gave a royal snub to Abbas-Mustan’s upcoming film ‘Race 2’, as she opted out of the film after shooting for it for six days. Though Mustan didn’t say anything to the actress, the producer Ramesh Taurani was never happy with the unprofessionalism.

As per the latest reports, Taurani has filed a complaint with CINTAA (Cine & TV Artistes Association) against Deepika, which means the actress will now have to respond to the complaint as otherwise her case will be forwarded to the FWICE (Federation of Western India Cine Employees), where it could end up in getting her a NCD (Non-Cooperation Directive).

Deepika has signed a film ’Kochadaiyaan’ with the Tamil superstar Rajinikanth and many believe this is the main reason why she has dumped ‘Race 2’. Nevertheless, Pahlaj Nihalani, who is one of the senior producers in the industry, while explaining the process told the media that Deepika will not be allowed to shoot for any other project, if the association finds her guilty.

Nihalani said, “If Taurani has filed a complaint against Deepika and he has a contract, she will have to honour the dates which she had allotted to him. If she has given the same dates to any other producer, she cannot shoot for the other project.”

When one of Deepika’s close friends was asked about it, he said Deepika will not be in any trouble since the contract she has says that the film would be completed by September 2011.

Deepika’s close friend said, “The only paper Taurani had given Deepika mentioned that the film would be completed by September 2011. We are in February 2012. Is it anywhere near completion? No. Then why is Taurani creating such a fuss?”

Deepika’s friend further claimed that she will not return to ‘Race 2’. Therefore, the media also contacted producer Taurani but an irked Taurani was in no mood at all to discuss anything.

He said, “Talk to Deepika if you’ve heard that she doesn’t want to return to my film. But please leave me alone.”

Well, all said and done, let’s see how Deepika responds to the situation.
