Ravi Bopara expecting Pakistan backlash

England middle-order batsman, Ravi Bopara has warned his team-mates not to be complacent, expecting a strong comeback by Pakistan in the ongoing One Day International series at UAE.

The Englishmen have earned an unbeatable position in the four-match competition by winning opening two games. After thrashing the home side by 130 runs in the first encounter, the Poms perpetuated their good run to wrestle a close 20-run triumph in the second
game.

Despite their clean-sweep win in the Test series, the Cornered Tigers are top-toe at the moment. However, Bopara does not want his side to take things lightly, saying that Misbah-ul-Haq and men will look to bounce back in the remaining two matches.

"Any series where you go 2-0 up is pretty good," said the 26-year-old. "But we’re keeping our feet on the ground. We know from the Test series what Pakistan are capable of. They are a very unpredictable side," said Bopara.

He added, "It’s going to be a massive thing for us to win out here. We haven’t had a good one-day record in the sub-continent so it’s a big thing for us to win. It will give us confidence to know we can do it in sub-continent conditions."

Bopara himself is in sublime form these days. He hit fifties in both games to help his skipper, Alastair Cook pile up challenging scores against a dangerous Pakistani bowling line-up. He is pleased with his current batting form, and wants to keep performing
for England’s future wins.

"I feel good. I felt a lot better yesterday than I did in the first game. I was just getting used to the bowlers and it was my second game since October. It makes a massive difference once you’ve had that time at the crease. The good thing is Cook is in
great form. Hopefully he can go into the third match and get some more runs," stated Bopara.

The classy right-hander has become an integral part of England’s limited-over side, but is yet to confirm his berth in the longest version of the game. When asked his future planning, he shared that he is not thinking too much about future, and just want
to keep doing well.
