Kunal Khemu says he has no comparisons with Emraan Hashmi

The child artist-turned-actor, Kunal Khemu, will be seen playing a lead role in the much-anticipated upcoming film ‘Blood Money’ and since the film is being produced by Mahesh Bhatt, many out there are expecting to see Kunal doing some erotic scenes. However, the 28-year-old has stressed on a clear distinction between him and former Bhatt camp regular, serial kisser, Emraan Hashmi.

“It’s true that I’ll be doing more films under the banner, but there is no competition between Emraan and me. The banner is not trying to create another Emraan Hashmi,” says Kunal.

Kunal is yet miles away from the leading actors of the Bollywood industry, as his last film ‘Golmaal 3’ sank at the box office without a trace still his upcoming film is making headlines and the only reason behind is that it is being produced by Bhatt, who is perhaps the favourite director, producer and screenwriter when it comes to the adult audiences.

Nevertheless, Kunal has confirmed that he wants to maintain a squeaky-clean image in the industry as a result to which people will not see him following Hashmi’s path.

“The filmmakers have been around for a long time and are pretty evolved and intelligent. They are the ones responsible for creating Brand Emraan, which came out of nowhere, and set his fan following.

“In my case, the Bhatts are not doing the same thing they did with Emraan. That doesn’t mean I will not do an, erotic thriller with the Bhatts at all,” said Kunal.

‘Blood Money’, which is scheduled to hit the cinemas on March 30, 2012, has a simple storyline, in which a simple man (Kunal) falls in love with a girl (Amrita Puri) but her parents don’t allow her to marry him because he is unsuccessful. Later on the two run away and get married before moving to Cape Town. After doing all the hard work, Kunal starts a small diamond-exporting business but he has no idea that he is getting into the underworld slowly!

Opposite to Kunal, the Indian actress Amrita Puri will play a lead role in the film.
