Ted: Production

Ted is an upcoming American comedy flick which is directed, produced and written by Seth MacFarlane, the creator of Family Guy. It stars Mark Wahlberg, Mila Kunis, Joel McHale and Seth Macfarlane (who gave the voice of Ted). The film is a feature-length
directorial debut for MacFarlane and is produced by Media Rights Capital.

The $65 million budgeted movie received an R rating by MPAA for crude sexual content, Pervasive language and some drug abuse. It is edited by Jeff Freeman and distributed by Universal Pictures and Media Rights Capital.

The movie follows John Bennett (starred by Whalberg) and his teddy bear that came to life as a result of a childhood wish. Bennet is a grown-up now and he must deal with Ted who has never left his sight ever since he came to life.

Macfarlane wrote the screenplay alongside his Family Guy colleagues Alec Sulkin and Wellesley Wild. The opening crawl for the Family Guy episode, It’s a Trap, alludes to Ted in a sentence, "But Fox suddenly had dollar signs in their eyes, and they said,
‘Seth, if you don’t do Jedi, we’re not gonna let you leave to go direct your movie.” He announced the movie in the 10th February, 2011 episode of Conan.

A super review from the review aggregator site Rotten Tomatoes commented about the movie, “Love Mark Wahlberg, love Mila Kunis, and I think Seth "The man with a thousand voices, all of them Stewie" Macfarlane is pretty dreamy. Also, how many movies is Mark
Wahlberg gonna be in with "How You Like Me Now" on the soundtrack?”

The score of the movie is given by Walter Murphy and cinematography is done by Michael Barrett. Filming of Ted began in May last year in Boston and Swampscott.

Ted is scheduled to release on 13th July, 2012 in United States and rest of the world.
