Timothy Bradley terms Freddie Roach a retard

Timothy Bradley, the current WBO Light Welterweight Champion, has called Manny Pacquiao’s Hall of Fame trainer Freddie Roach a retard after knowing that Roach has compared him to the likes of Ricky Hatton.

The undefeated American prospect, Bradley, who holds a record of winning all of his 29 professional fights (1 no contest), with 12 of wins coming by the way of a knockout, is all set to fight Pacquiao on June 9 at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada and Roach thinks he will be a cake walk for his man, who currently holds the WBO Welterweight Championship belt.

“He fights just like Hatton with a stronger chin,” said Roach to The Philippine Star. “He thinks he’s the best conditioned boxer in the world. For sure, he works out every day. From what I know, he walks around at 165 pounds with very little body fat. He’s all muscle. I don’t think he’ll come in lighter than Manny.”

In reply to the above statement, an irked Bradley termed Roach a retard and said he is a totally different style from Hatton, who suffered a brutal knockout against the Filipino star.

“I hear Freddie Roach is comparing me to Ricky Hatton and I’m like ‘dude, you guys are retarded if you think I fight like Ricky Hatton.’ Honestly, but no offense, what you guys looking at? And then they bring in this Russian guy [Ruslan Provodnikov] who comes forward and is a banger, and I’m like ‘wow, these guys really don’t know what I can do.’ It’s funny, they think I’m just this face-first brawler and I’m like ‘you guys are going to be in for a rude awakening.’ I can fight, I can box and I can brawl,” Bradley told boxingscence.com.

Well, all said and done, Bradley will enter the ring as an underdog against Pacquiao but let’s see if can really shock the world by beating the man who is considered by many as the best pugilist on the planet.
