President Zardari and PM Gilani meet to discuss political situation in the country

Islamabad: (Friday, June 15, 2012) President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani met today to discuss the ongoing political situation in the country. According to the sources, issues pertinent to energy shortage
and law and order situation in different parts of the country also came under discussion during the brief meeting.

In the meeting, held at Aiwan-e-Sadar, PM Gilani gave briefings to the President on Pakistan’s participation in the United Nations’ Conference on Sustainable Development at Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Sharing details of the event, Gilani said that the country will officially be represented by Minister for Foreign Affairs Hina Rabbani Khar and Minister for Climate Change Rana Muhammad Farooq in the event.

The prime minister also gave briefings to the president over the energy situation across the country.

President Zardari, during the meeting, complimented the PM and his team, particularly minister for finance and the coalition partners for a successful approval of fifth budget of their government yesterday.

The two dignitaries also discussed the law and order situation across the country in the meeting.
