Court Martial proceedings against Brigadier Ali conclude

Karachi: (Tuesday, June 26, 2012) Court martial proceedings against Brig Ali have concluded. Ali was arrested last year on May 6 on charges of instigating mutiny.

Besides accused for initiating and encouraging muting within the army, he was also charged for trying to seize power through unlawful means and having links with the outlawed organization Hizb-ut-Tahrir.

Brigadier Ali, later on, was also accused of plotting an air strike on the GHQ in Rawalpindi.

The court martial proceedings against the accused military officer lasted for six months and five army officers who were witness of the prosecution testified against him.
