David Haye defends his fight with Dereck Chisora; says nobody was bothered with Mike Tyson!

Former WBA heavyweight champion David Haye is all set to take on his archrival Dereck Chisora on July 14 at the West Ham’s Upton Park Stadium in east London, in a fight which many out there have described as ‘The Sham at West Ham’.

The main reason behind is obviously the ugly brawl which occurred between the two boxers in Munich in February, when they clashed at a post-fight press conference which followed Chisora’s twelve-round unanimous defeat to Vitali Klitschko.

However, Haye is not ashamed at all of whatever happened in Germany since he believes at the end of the day people just want to see an explosive fight.

The 31-year-old brash Londoner, who is more commonly known as the Hayemaker, defended his upcoming fight by saying that he has not committed any crimes like other boxers out there.

While speaking on his inclusion, Haye told Boxing Correspondent Gareth A Davies that no one cared about Mike Tyson’s behaviour during his time than why is everyone so concerned about him.

“Who cared about Mike Tyson’s police record when he was younger? People only cared about him being the youngest heavyweight champion. Even when he was done for raping a woman, people didn’t seem bothered. They just thought, ‘Oh, Mike Tyson’s fighting again, let’s go and pay $50 to watch Mike Tyson fight because he’s The Baddest Man on the Planet’.

“A lot of fighters have criminal records. Look at Dereck Chisora for instance – he’s been done for God knows what and he has still managed to get a boxing licence. I haven’t committed any crimes.

“It is all about what you achieve in the ring. Dereck Chisora, although he has been convicted for beating up his missus, carrying offensive weapons and attacking police officers, all he’s got to do is beat me and no one will care about his police record.”

Both Haye and Chisora doesn’t carry a British Boxing Board of Control’s boxing license and there fight has been sanctioned by the Luxemburg Boxing Federation.
