Freddie Roach bashes the ‘Garcias’ for their impudence

Hall of Famer coach Freddie Roach has had it enough from the ‘Garcias’. He appreciates his fighter Amir Khan for being calm but believes it is his time to whip the father and son for their ill-manners.

In his recent interview, Freddie Roach, who is currently with Khan training for the big day, said, “No, I think Peterson is a much more experienced fighter. Much more polished. I think figuring the guys out and watching tapes of both fighters, I think Garcia is made to order for us.”

According to Roach, Khan is a better fighter between the two, and he has repeatedly claimed so. Even now, Roach believes that Garcia is not experienced enough to judge a fighter like Khan in the ring.

Khan, the former IBF and WBA light welterweight titlist, has gone through a long training of approximately 2 months, yet Roach believes Khan is good to go. The Bolton proud will be taking on Danny Garcia on July 14 at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino in Las Vegas for the WBC light welterweight title and the WBA light welterweight title.

Angel Garcia had spoken of Roach’s capabilities as a trainer, deeming him as an underachiever even though he is considered the best coach in the world of boxing. When Roach was asked to comment on the situation, he said, “It’s like, is it really worth a response?”

He added, “I don’t read the internet so I don’t read negative information. It’s not part of my life. Thing is, whatever he says, I talk about Sergio Martinez not being that good sometimes so it’s just talk. It really doesn’t affect me at all and best thing is it won’t help him at all. His son will pay in the ring.”

With Roach’s confidence, it is evident he believes in Khan and he knows the British-Pakistani fighter will blow Garcia off in the ring. However, the stakes are too high for both the fighters and that can pressurise Khan as much as Garcia.
