Oscar De La Hoya: Amir Khan is a true professional!

Oscar De La Hoya, the former multiple-time world champion and owner of the renowned Golden Boy Promotion, has commended former IBF and WBA light welterweight champion, Amir Khan, for his professionalism.

The Bolton man, who is more commonly known as King Khan, was recently bashed by Danny Garcia’s father, Angel Garcia, at a press conference but Khan remained unfazed and didn’t do any trash talk at all and it looks as if he has impressed De La Hoya.

“Contrary to me, Amir Khan is always in great spirits, and he’s a true professional,” De La Hoya said.

Khan will lock horns with Garcia for the WBA and WBC light welterweight titles on July 14 at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The Brit will enter the ring as a favorite against Garcia. However, De La Hoya thinks it can be a hard night for Khan, if he will not put his loss to Peterson off his mind.

The 25-year-old lost his titles on December 10 last year to Lamont Peterson, in a fight which ended up in a storm of controversy.

“I can tell you a layoff can hinder your performance, and I’ll tell you if that has happened to Amir Khan, he’s in for a long, hard night versus a hungry Danny Garcia.”

Well, all said and done, Khan and Garcia’s fight has created an enormous hype among the people because it has now turned out into a grudge match and the main reason behind is obviously Angel Garcia, Danny Garcia’s father.

Furthermore, everyone knows Khan is returning to the ring for the first time since his controversial loss to Peterson and he has called it his last fight at the 140 lbs division.

Let’s see if Khan can come back under the main lights by becoming the first man ever to beat Garcia in the ring.
