Bad weather affects PIA flight schedule

Islamabad: (Wednesday, July 11, 2012) As Islamabad observed rains and inclement weather today, the PIA flights travelling to and from Islamabad were either diverted or delayed. This perhaps was out of control of the airline, said
a PIA spokesperson here today.

In order to clean up the runways, both Islamabad and Karachi airports were closed from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM today. This also affected the flight schedules of many airlines.

Of PIA, the delayed flights from Karachi included PK 301, PK 304, PK 340, PK 352 and PK 388.

Moreover, early morning, three flights were diverted from Islamabad to Lahore due to bad weather.

The diverted flights included PK 378, PK 747 and PK 792 while the flights delayed or affected due to the closure of the runway at Karachi included PK 340 and PK 388, told the PIA spokesman.
