PM Ashraf congratulates Abdul Qadir Gilani on his by-poll victory

Islamabad: (Thursday, July 19, 2012) Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf, on the occasion of by-polls in NA 151, the national assembly seat vacated by former Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani after his disqualification by the Supreme
Court, has congratulated Yousuf Raza Gilani on his son’s success.

Commenting on today’s development, the PM said that all the anti-PPP forces were supporting the opposition candidate but the winning of the PPP candidate speaks volumes about the support of the masses for the Pakistan People’s
Party.

Adding to his remarks, PM Ashraf further said that the election in NA 151 is also a depiction of a free, fair and transparent election which was a good omen for democracy and for the upcoming general elections.

The prime minister further said that the PPP firmly believes in the democratic process and would take every possible measure to strengthen it.
