Search operation in Peshawar: 3 militants killed

Peshawar: (Tuesday, August 07, 2012) During a search operation conducted here between Sunday night and Monday morning in the Cantt area of Peshawar city, three militants have been killed. During the operation, two security men
were also martyred.

According to the sources, the search operation was conducted by the police force which lingered for many hours. The areas where this search operation was conducted included R.A Bazar and State Life Chowk in Peshawar Cantt.

Sharing the details, the sources said that three militants had escaped from the police custody and the operation was conducted to arrest them again.

The sources further said that all three militants were killed during the operation. The witnesses told the reporters that two explosions were also heard from the operation site.

While all roads leading to cantt were closed, a sense of fear held the city in its grip throughout the operation.
