50 Cent: I believe I can make Manny Pacquiao v Floyd Mayweather junior possible

Floyd Mayweather’s best friend and a renowned rapper, 50 Cent, has obtained a promotional license in New York and he has hinted he’ll be featuring the Grand Rapids native under TMT Promotions.

However, the singer has turned heads by claiming that he is in negotiations with the Filipino boxing icon Manny Pacquiao and he is hopeful of arranging a fight between Pacquiao and Mayweather.

The five-division world champion Mayweather, who is the current WBA welterweight champion, WBA (Super) light middleweight champion and recipient of the WBC Diamond belt champion, has recently been released from the prison last week after serving 63 days of an 87 days based sentence.

“I believe I can,” 50 Cent told Power 106 Radio on the chances of making the megafight happen. “I believe that I’m a big reason why the possibility is coming closer. We are in communications, so hopefully we can get the show going.”

The undefeated American legend, Floyd Mayweather, who holds an incredible record of winning all of his 43 professional fights, with 26 of his wins coming by the way of a knockout, has no plans to fight again this year since he said it before going into the prison. Therefore, a fight in 2013 seems realistic.

Pacquiao’s promoter Bob Arum also hoping for a Mayweather clash next year for his man. Nevertheless Timothy Bradley, Juan Manuel Marquez and Miguel Cotto are the options for the Filipino at this point in time.

“The question is how early next year will the fight take place because Pacquiao will be running for office again and if the elections take place in May, how much lead time does he need in preparing his campaign.”

“I want to explore with Manny the feasibility of doing a Mayweather fight sometime next year. I have to get his idea on schedules and when he is going to have to start campaigning for office,” Arum told the Manila Standard.
