Kareena Kapoor says her role in ‘Heroine’ is the boldest and bravest ever

The ultimate diva of Bollywood industry Kareena Kapoor is awaiting the release of her film ‘Heroine’, in which she believes she has performed the boldest and the bravest role ever.

The 31-year-old, who is the most profitable B’town actress, recently had an exclusive interview with the ‘Times of India’ and while speaking on her inclusion she said, her life resembles a lot with the character of Mahi Arora, which she has played in the movie.

She told TOI, “It is the boldest and bravest role I have done.”

She said, “I am a commercial star and it is difficult to break away from that image, though I have always wanted to. And I did Dev, Omkara, Jab We Met. I can safely say that no actor in my position would want to play a declining superstar. Everyone wants to play a heroine who is at her peak and glamorous, who will either kill herself or become a superstar.”

The actress remarked she doesn’t want to stick to a certain kind of role. She said she wants to try different roles and wants to act till 50 or 60.

She added, “I’m a superstar. This film is about a superstar’s life. I kept asking myself, what if I had to go through this? Mahi is the only character I have lived through.

“Ever since I was in my mom’s womb… I wanted to be a heroine.”

When Kareena was asked why did she sign up for the film, the actress replied by saying that she agreed for the film because of its climax.

She insisted, “The USP of Heroine is the last 40 minutes. I said yes to the film for those 40 minutes.”

‘Heroine’, which is scheduled to hit the cinema halls on September 21, has been directed by Madhur Bhandarkar and along with Kareena the film will also feature the likes of Arjun Rampal, Randeep Hooda and Shahana Goswami.

Well, all said and done, let’s see how much the film generates at the box office.
