Fenglin Zhang and Zhixian Yang snare gold medals – Chinese National Swimming Championships

Fenglin Zhang and Zhixian Yang snared gold medals of Men’s 200m backstroke and 200m butterfly respectively at the 2012 Chinese National Long Course Swimming Championships.

Zhang remained considerably ahead of his opponents from the start and paved his way to the finishing wall for gold medal. He showed no leniency to his opponents in the backstroke discipline and claimed victory in a comfortable manner.

With his continuous efforts in the four-lap discipline, he enjoyed a lead of three body lengths over his opponent and clocked a nice time of 1 minute and 56.36 seconds for gold medal.

The gold medallist was chased by Jiayu Xu, who was nearly three seconds behind and surfaced on the wall as second position holder by reporting a time of 1 minute and 59.26 seconds.

The second position holder was chased by Jigong Diao, who stayed 1.24 seconds slower from his foregoing competitor and clocked an effort of 2 minutes and 00.50 seconds for bronze medal.

Afterwards, the audience witnessed commendable form of Yang in the distant butterfly discipline. Yang demonstrated his exhausting efforts in the first lap and dominated his way to the finishing wall for the crown.

Yang gained a significant lead over his challengers from the start and ensured his place on the victory stand for gold medal. He remained nearly two body lengths ahead of his following swimmer and surfaced on the finishing end by producing a fantastic time
of 1 minute and 58.40 seconds.

The gold medallist was followed by Ziqiao Zuo, who remained almost 1.80 seconds slower and touched the wall for silver medal by producing an effort of 2 minutes and 00.23 seconds.

The second position holder was followed by Yu Liu, who remained 0.10 seconds behind and touched the wall for bronze medal by submitting a time of 2 minutes and 00.33 seconds.

In addition, the position holders received medals and accolade for their splendid forms at the prize distribution ceremony of the event. Furthermore, the arena appreciated their remarkable performances in their respective events.
