National Accountability Bureau (NAB) investigation officer Kamran Faisal, who was found dead in his home, was tortured before death, his uncle has claimed.

Faisal had been working with another NAB investigation officer Asghar Khan to investigate into a multi-billion Rental Power Projects case against Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf. His uncle said that while giving bath to Faisal’s body, he saw marks of torture on his body.

Faisal was found dead on Friday at his home in the Federal Lodges. According to police, the NAB official committed suicide. An autopsy report has also been concluded and samples have been sent to a laboratory for forensic report, which would likely to be obtained in 7 to 10 days

Final post-mortem report would be prepared after receiving forensic report, hospital sources said.

Earlier, authorities handed over his body to his maternal uncle in Islamabad, who later brought it to Mian Channu by road. His funeral prayer is due later today, after which he will be laid to rest in his ancestral village.

Assistant Director NAB Kamran Faisal, engaged in the investigation of the RPP case, was mysteriously found dead in his room in the Federal Lodges on Friday.  He was found hanging from the ceiling fan when the NAB officials broke into his room, the people who witnessed the scene, said.

A three-member medical board expressed doubts at the death, saying, “This is not like what is being said.” The six-member board concluded the postmortem at 9:30pm but reserved its opinion till tomorrow, a PolyClinic official said.

The NAB insiders disclosed that Kamran Faisal, who had written the report on the RPPs case, was mentally tortured at the NAB Headquarters by some high-ups to change the report but he refused to budge.

I must say that shame on Pakistan’s so called democracy where NAB chairman tells Supreme Court that it is unwilling to turn in Raja Parvez Ashraf.
    NAB investigator is killed!
If this were a real democracy, there would have been an immediate arrest of PM and Chairman.
    Yet, everyone is silent.
In such a case, the people will have to take up arms against state where politicians continue to corrupt and anyone who dare to speak out against them are killed.
There is no point in dealing w/ criminals on basis of law, and democracy. It is pointless.
    SHAME ON PAKISTAN’S DEMOCRACY!
