Sydney Pickrem and Ryo Fujimoto secure gold medals – Australian Youth Olympic Festival

Sydney Pickrem and Ryo Fujimoto secured gold medals of the 200m Individual Medley (IM) in Women and Men’s corner at the 2012 Australian Youth Olympic Festival.

She stayed just a touch ahead of her closest competitor and surfaced on the finishing end for gold medal with a timing of 2 minutes and 15.15 seconds.

The champion was traced by Yui Ohashi, who was only 0.06 seconds slower and tapped the wall with the timing of 2 minutes and 15.21 seconds.

Third position of the race was obtained by Hayley Baker, who remained 0.67 seconds behind and surfaced on the wall by producing a time of 2 minutes and 15.88 seconds.

The third position was chased by Dalma Sebestyen, who was 0.06 seconds apart and transpired on the finishing end for fourth place by producing a time of 2 minutes and 15.94 seconds.

Fifth spot of the swim was secured by Chihiro Igarashi, who stayed 0.11 seconds slower and surfaced on the wall by clocking an effort of 2 minutes and 16.05 seconds.

On the other hand, Fujimoto snared gold medal of the similar event in Men’s corner. Fujimoto remained one second ahead of his following swimmer and touched the wall for gold medal by producing a time of 2 minutes and 03.29 seconds.

The gold medallist was secured by Evan White, who stayed 1.01 seconds slower and surfaced on the finishing end for silver medal by clocking a time of 2 minutes and 04.30 seconds.

The silver medallist was traced by Bradlee Ashby, who stayed 0.07 seconds apart and tapped the wall with an effort of 2 minutes and 04.37 seconds.

Fourth position holder of the event was gained by Benjamin Gratz, who stayed more than a body length behind and clocked a time of 2 minutes and 05.53 seconds.

In addition, the arena appreciated ruthless efforts of all participants in their respective events while the position holders received medals and accolades for their notable efforts at the victory ceremony of the tournament after the conclusion of session.
