Pakistan cricket team disappoints yet again

The Pakistani cricket team has been disappointing its supporters for years now and by the looks of it, the green caps do not plan on breaking the trend anytime soon.

A team that has been put together by bringing together 11 of the most talented cricketers from Pakistan, the expectations are naturally high.

However, captain Misbah-ul-Haq and his team have managed to bring the nation to tears after putting on a dismal performance against the Protease in South Africa.

None of the Pakistani batsmen was able to stand his ground as the likes of Dale Steyn and Vernon Philander took them apart throughout the series, with another South African pacer Kyle Abbott making a solid contribution to his team’s victory in the third and final test match.

One thing is for certain, Pakistan stands nowhere as far as its batting is concerned. They were not very impressive in the series against England, which was won through the efforts of Pakistani spin bowlers, namely Saeed Ajmal and Abdur Rehman.

The tour of Sri Lanka did not go too well either and the latest series in South Africa featured a very familiar performance, one that no team would be proud of.

Unfortunately, the Pakistani batsmen are still oblivious to the fact that they lack the skill to play swing and seam bowling.

Rather than accepting the responsibility for their disappointing performance, they are still stubbornly claiming to have the necessary skills to put up a solid battle against South Africa, while giving the credit to the likes of Steyn and Philander for pitching the ball in the right areas.

The South African bowlers were exceptional without any doubt, though that hardly justified the collapse of Pakistan batting line-up in every single match.

If Pakistan is serious about redeeming itself in the One Day International and T20 series, then it needs to take some bold steps. Otherwise, they are sure to meet a pretty familiar fate in the shorter version of the game.
