Arsene Wenger praises Arsenal after their impressive win over West Bromwich Albion – Football News

Arsenal’s boss, Arsene Wenger, praised his side after their superb display of football skills against West Bromwich Albion at the Hawthorns.

The Gunners recorded a 2-1 victory in their away game last weekend which boosted their confidence.

Thomas Rosicky was on fire as he hit the brace and led his side to glory. The Czech International scored the opener after half hour from start of the match and took Arsenal 1-0 up. The scores stayed same in the opening half.

In the following half, Rosicky maintained his intensity doubled the lead for Arsenal in 50th minute. After receiving pass from Aaron Ramsey, Rosicky fired the ball in. Despite Forster saving the ball, the Czech showed remained calm and smashed the ball again.

Per Mertesacker received red card in the 70th minute, eventually causing West Bromwich to lower the trail. James Morrison scored after taking the penalty. However, Arsenal managed to hold off West Bromwich and stole the limelight.

The Frenchman was quoted in an interview to the Arsenal Player:

“It was a difficult game. We knew it before, against a good West Brom side who were up for it. I’m very happy and proud of the players because we have shown different aspects that are in the team at the moment – fantastic technical quality for 65 or 70 minutes, and then, when we had our backs to the ball, resolute attitude and battling qualities. We got three important points with that.”

Elsewhere, Arsenal’s arch rivals Tottenham Hotspurs dropped two points in their match. As a result Arsenal are now two points behind the fourth placed Spurs. They also have a game in hand.

“The most important thing is for us to win our games,” the Arsenal tactician reflected. “Then you don’t need to calculate too much. We can look at their games and think that we have done our job today. Let’s do it again next week and then we see where we stand.”
