He said that the successful replacement of PAKSAT-1 with PAKSAT-1R has ensured continuity of service to various national and international customers including, TV broadcasters, Telecom operators, Data and Broadband Internet service providers as well as government organizations.

PAKSAT-1R is operating from orbital location of 38AA$ A East Longitude and is offering C and Ku band coverage in over 75 countries across Europe, Africa, Middle East, South and Central Asia, he said.

Official said using satellite, broadcast and telecommunications services are extended not only to the people in cities but also those living in small isolated islands and sparsely populated rural areas.

Satellite also distributes content faster than conventional oncline delivery. It offers last mile access, allowing content to be transmitted directly to users premises bypassing the congested terrestrial bottlenecks and multiple hops, he said.
