ECP lawyer says Commission can’t hold Pakistan Cricket Board election

Appearing before the Islamabad High Court (IHC), Advocate for the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), Munir Paracha, said that the commission cannot conduct the election for the position of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman.
The Islamabad High Court heard the case regarding the election of PCB chairman on Monday and Munir Paracha said that the ECP cannot hold the PCB chairman election as per the constitution of Pakistan. The ECP lawyer advised that the elections be conducted under a retired judge’s supervision, suggesting the name of Justice (retd) Asad Munir.
Justice Aziz Siddiqui said that the Election Comission of Pakistan, which is a constitutional body, was not following the orders of the court and a decision regarding this will be declared on Tuesday.
