Justice Tassaduq Hussain Jillani Becomes New CJ of Pakistan

Chief Justice, Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry, retired on December 11th, 2013. The former Chief Justice of Pakistan was famous for shaking the archaic political order and bringing the spy chiefs, who always wore a veil of secrecy, under the spotlight.
After his retirement, Pakistan needed a new Chief Justice and it was decided that Justice Tassaduq Hussain Jillani will be the one taking over in place of Chief Justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry.
It was reported from Islamabad that the new Chief Justice of Pakistan, Tassaduq Hussain Jillani, took oath on Thursday night.
It was the president, Mamnon Hussain, who administered the oath-taking ceremony which was taking place in the capital city of Pakistan.
The current Prime Minister of Pakistan, Mian Nawaz Shareef, and the former Chief Justice of Pakistan, Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry, were also a part of the oath-taking ceremony alongside the Chief Justice of Federal Sharia Court and Chief Justice of High Court.
Furthermore, the Prime Minister of Azad and Jammu Kashmir was also present in the ceremony alongside Speaker of the National Assembly, Chief Minister of Sindh and envoys of several other countries.
Pakistan has now officially completed five years of democracy as the President, Chief Justice, Assembly and Prime Minister have all changed after completing their tenure.
