Formula One icon, who suffered a disastrous ski crash last week, and has been fighting for his life for the last few days, was stable overnight but remained in critical condition on Wednesday, according to his manager Sabine Kehm.

The 44 year German suffered a brain injury during the incident showed minor signs of improvement on Tuesday.

According to Kehm, the seven time formula one champion, is fighting hard;

“The good news for today is … there’s no significant changes,” Kehm told reporters gathered outside the hospital in Grenoble, France, where Schumacher is being treated. “However, it is still very early, and the situation overall is critical.”

Doctors have so far carried out tow brain surgeries on Schumacher, who still remains in medically induced coma. Doctors have however refused to give any prognosis and as of now they are desperately trying to reduce the swelling by keeping him in induced coma.

Dr. Jean-Francois Payen, the doctor in charge of Grenoble University Hospital’s intensive care unit, had told a press conference Tuesday: “We can’t say he is out of danger but … we have gained a bit of time..”
