PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari calls Pervez Musharraf a coward

General (retried) and the former President of Pakistan, Pervez Musharraf was recently admitted to the Armed Forces Institute of Cardiology after he complained of heart ache. However, since this happened as he was on his way to the court for his treason hearing, he has been receiving a lot of flak for it.

Yesterday, PPP Chairman, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari posted on twitter, saying, “I can’t believe this coward ever wore the uniform of our brave and courageous armed forces”.

As harsh as it may seem, his next tweet hinted towards an orchestrated incident, reading, “All medical excuses must be verified by an independent board of doctors. I have an ouchy is no excuses to skip your treason case”.

Bilawal’s twitter comments drew criticism on the social network, mainly from MQM party members, like Mohammad Anwar, who was quick to point out how Asif Ali Zardari faked medical conditions to avoid trial in a Swiss court.

“That’s the pot calling the kettle black. Bilawal shouldn’t forget that his father, Asif Ali Zardari, just to avoid appearance before a Swiss court, submitted medical certificates declaring him demented”, said Anwar Ali.

Haider Abbas Rizvi, another MQM leader, endorsed Mohammad Anwar’s views as well. While all this led to a war of words, in the end Bilawal tweeted that Musharraf deserves a fair trial.

The former president could be looking at a death penalty or life imprisonment if he is convicted for treason.
