Pakistan government and Taliban were involved in peace talks after both had been in war for several years. The Pakistani nation was subject to several attacks on the country where many people lost their lives.

This is when the banned organization, Tehreek E Taliban, was asked to negotiate with the Pakistani government. Pakistan wanted to start peace talks with Taliban but that is when their leader decided to kill all 23 FC personnel he held captive since 2010. This was quite a clear indication that Taliban were in no mood for peace talks and that is when the Pakistani government decided to launch airstrikes in the North Waziristan region of the country.

On the first day, Pakistani air force killed at least 25 militants and destroyed their hideouts. These attacks continued till 28th of February and they started from the 20th of February. During this time at least 20 militants on a daily basis.

Now the Taliban committee coordinator, Yusuf Shah, has stated that he wants the Pakistani government to call for a ceasefire and stop all airstrikes which have been launched on the organization.

Recently it was revealed that a meeting of the government and the Taliban committee will be held with the interior minister.
