Sheikh Rashid Stopped at Islamabad Airport

It was recently reported from Islamabad that the senior politician and the chief of Awami Muslim League political party, Sheikh Rashid, was stopped at the Islamabad International Airport.

Sources claim that Sheikh Rashid was planning to leave the country as he had to catch a flight for Canada. However, he was stopped by the security forces for reasons unknown.

The incident took place on Friday morning and the media is still not well-informed about the reason why the senior politician was actually stopped from going abroad.

Sheikh Rashid then came on television in order to speak to the media regarding the matter. He said that he was told by the PIA authorities that he was not allowed to fly on Friday morning. He also informed the media that his name is currently not on the exit control list and the reason for stopping him is unknown to him as well. He spoke to government officials regarding the matter and no particular response was received from them as well.

Sources state that Sheikh Rashid was leaving for Canada in order to address different Jalsas. He said in the interview that all the arrangements were finalized in Canada but now he will not be able to reach there on time.
