Jennifer Lopez Out of FIFA World Cup 2014 Opening Ceremony

Jennifer Lopez will not perform at the FIFA world cup 2014 opening ceremony to sing the official song “We are one Ola Ola” along with Pitbull and rapper Pitbull and Brazilian singer Claudia Leitte. The surprise and sudden withdrawal from the performance gave certain “production issues” as the reason. Pitbull and Leitte both will sing the song.

FIFA world cup 2014 is scheduled to kick start on Thursday June 12, 2014. Estimated 60,000 football fans from around the world are expected to watch the opening ceremony and kick-off match between Brazil and Croatia in Sao Paulo’s Corinthians Arena in Brazil.

A statement from FIFA confirmed her absence from the event and said, “For production issues, Jennifer Lopez, one of the artists of the official song We Are One, will not be able to perform at the FIFA World Cup opening ceremony.”

Jennifer Lopez representative also told E! News in a statement, “We can confirm the accuracy of FIFA’s statement. Regretfully Jennifer Lopez will not be attending this year’s World Cup opening ceremonies.”

Lopez had earlier said that she was thrilled to perform at the opening ceremony of football world cup. She said, This is an amazing celebration of global unity, competition and sport.”

The opening celebrations will feature 600 artists and over one billion people are expected to watch it live on their television screens.
