Thousands of people gathered at the Jinnah Park in Karachi to express their support against terrorism on Sunday July 6, 2014. Altaf Hussain addressed the rally through a video link which had the representatives from almost every political party of the country . MQM leader said, “Today’s massive show proves that the entire nation is with the armed forces and stands behind them in the time of crisis.”

“If terrorists want to impose the Sharia, they should [do it] while remaining in the parameters of the Constitution”, said Altaf Hussain.

“They [terrorists] want to destroy the country while sowing the seeds of sectarian, ethnic and religious hatred”, Altaf Hussain further added.

When Altaf Hussain said “We stand with our courageous forces and we salute them,” everyone rose to salute the Pakistan armed forces.

Altaf Hussain demanded that all the abettors of (Rtd) General Parvaiz Musharraf should also face trials including those responsible for hijacking the plane in 1999. He was referring to the diversion of plane in which Musharraf was traveling.
