Shaharyar Khan has been appointed as the new Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Monday August 18, 2014 after the resignation of Najam Sethi as the head of the cricket board.

Pakistan Cricket Boar said in a statement on Monday,  “It is notified that Mr. Shaharyar M. Khan, the sole candidate for the office, has been unanimously elected as Chairman PCB and shall assume charge at 4:00 PM 18th August 2014.”

Shaharyar Khan was the only candidate for the vacant position of chairmanship of the cricket board by the deadline to submit the nomination papers.

PCB declared him as the new elected Chairman in the absence of any other candidate.  Shaharyar Khan is former bureaucrat and diplomat. He had previously served as the Chairman of PCB.
